The reporter’s words

We have protected cycle ways on our street which we love! However one set of car parks directly outside our house (on outside of protection strip - see photo) are far too narrow. Even if you park as close as possible you are still outside the lines - see photo of my neighbours car as example. This is a difficult part of the street as it begins to split the road lanes for the intersection at Milton street. This has led to people parking one side of their car with two wheels up on the protection curb. Most people seem to accept this but some neighbours have taken exception and have started damaging tyres of those that park like that. The only way of fixing this would be narrowing the protection section which would cost heaps. However, I am reporting this so it is known the current design doesn't work and hopefully future designs can be improved upon.
