The reporter’s words

We visited Knight Stream Bike Park today with our Grandchildren. There is a drain which crosses one of the paths. The asphalt which covers the drain has slumped causing a lip with the path of about 5cm. Our granddaughter tripped on this and ripped a hole in her tights and need medical attention. I am not so much worried about her falling as she recovered quickly, but the fact that it could have been worse, especially if a child hit it at speed on a scooter or skateboard it could be a disaster, particularly if they didn't have protective gear. My granddaughter was only walking. It appears that the drain has been put in after the path was completed and then resealed. It is that resealing that has slumped, causing the height difference. I feel it is something that needs immediate attention to this area which today was packed with young children emjoying their Christmas holidays.
