Roading/Streets
Reported Thursday, 30 January 2020 at 2:39 pm, Spreydon, 8024, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
I’m pleased this very poor section of seal on the southbound carriageway has finally been renewed. However, the quality of the seal is absolutely terrible, there are holes appearing at numerous locations and there are just as many bumps as there were previously. Surely when resealing it should be standard practice to skim the surface before laying new seal to ensure a quality end product. This is one of the reasons why chip seal is seen as such a poor finish compared to asphalt. If preparation was good the final surface would also be much better and last much longer.
