Delicious, hearty meal in Cafe Valentino! Passing through Christchurch and found this hidden gem. A large restaurant with plenty of seating, the staff were friendly and a welcoming buzz filled the place! We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Primitivo, which accompanied focaccia to start and scrumptious pasta for mains. I had rigatoni with roasted squash, smoked chicken, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. Huge portions and each mouthful was delicious! Reasonable prices for portion size and quality of meal. Would highly recommend!
Grace T, 6 months agoFirst things first, the portions here are enormous. You can't really finish a dish on your own. My sister had the spaghetti Bolognese and thought it was alright but couldn't finish it because of the portions. My dad had a pizza which was also fine. I ordered the gnocchi which I really don't recommend. It felt very thrown on the plate rather than an actual dish and the gnocchi itself was very mushy. It's listed as butternut squash and onion which is true but I thought they might be part of a sauce rather than just a pile of each. I didn't finish the dish so I ordered dessert so I wouldn't leave
