Disappointed. New to Christchurch so went on reviews. Fish chips were definitely old and reheated. Everything tasted gross and couldn’t eat it. I really wanted to like it as it’s our local. I’m not a fussy person. Some positives were that the man on the phone when ordering was friendly and helpful, it was ready in 10 mins, and 2 scoops of chips gets you quite a lot. Won’t be going back though unfortunately. Darn!
Stacey Parker, 6 months agoNot exactly local to me, but I decided to try it based on all the good reviews. Good points: The servings are massive. Large pieces of good quality fish and half a scoop of chips was more than enough to feed two people. Cooked well and no grease! They also give you a choice of regular salt or chicken salt. Bad points: The batter on the fish was a bit thicker than I'd like, the chips were slightly soggy (only slightly) and there were a lot of scrappy little bits of chips. Conclusion: I'll continue going to Hillview Fish Supply on Barrington Street because in my opinion their chips are the best.
Zak McKracken, 5 years agoDrove past this place for many years and finally I stopped and ordered some food. Got the veggie burger and 2x potato fritters. So filling and tasty. Value for money and I will definitely go back for more tasty treats. Food was fast and the lovely young teen was polite.
