Overall, the food was decent. One portion of rice was very generous and enough for two people, but the rice was a little dry. In general, the prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and attentive. One thing I was confused about was the cold chili oil chicken dish. In the photo, it looked like a generous portion with mostly chicken, but when it was served, there were only about 5 or 6 small pieces of chicken mixed with cucumber and a lot of peanuts. It looked completely different from the picture.
Julie Julie, 4 months agoAlways enjoy coming here, it feels like simple food but you can always tell plenty of care has gone into it. We usually do 2 claypots between 4-5 people and plenty of other meals to fill in the gaps. The skewers are always so good! And the lemon fish is genuinely some of the best I've ever head. So crispy and sutble with the citrusy sweet sauce is the best. Cucumber and chilli oil is a classic and always awesome here. Lovely staff and really nice place to have a good & comforting meal. (Yes I have attached photos from two different days... we have been here so many times!)
Aria C, 5 months ago🍲 Claypot Rice in Christchurch?! Worth the 30-Minute Wait🔥 Christchurch finally has real Hong Kong-style claypot rice — and yes,FIRST ONE TO ORDER AT 12:00pm, OTHER CUSTOMER CAME AROUND 12:20PM still I waited 30 minutes, but it was totally worth it. This new spot is still finding its rhythm, so expect a bit of a wait… but once that sizzling pot hits the table, you’ll forget all about the delay. ✨ I ordered the Lup Cheong Claypot Rice — topped with smoky Chinese sausage and crispy-bottomed rice, just like it’s supposed to be. Pour the soy sauce over and mix it up — the aroma alone is enough
