Rubbish/Recycling
Reported Monday, 30 November 2015 at 8:03 pm, 24, Gracefield Avenue, Christchurch, 8013, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
I would like to report the extremely unsanitary and quite frankly disgusting state of the Wilsons Carpark located at 885 Colombo Street. The carpark contains hundreds of used condoms stuck to the asphalt with dried stains of bodily fluid. It is evident that many of these used prophylactics have been there for some time and have literally stuck themselves to the asphalt. It is also evident that this carpark is used regularly as there is clear evidence of recently disposed of prophylactics. Furthermore, the state of the car park is an absolute disgrace with excessive rubbish contained within its boundaries. I live next door to this car park and made the mistake of taking my children for a Sunday morning ride around the neighbourhood on their scooters and thought "wouldn't it be nice to allow the children to ride their scooters in a vacant unused carpark". Luckily my two sons did not actually touch any of the used condoms which is surprising considering their inquisitive nature. However, the would have ridden over and walked on these condoms before I had a chance to drag them out of the bio hazard that is 885 Colombo street. This is a major health and safety issue that needs addressing immediately.
