The reporter’s words

Why have nandina domestica and decorative grasses been pruned into ugly shapes? It is a disgrace at the entrance to a beautiful park. Nandinas are grown for winter colour, and only need dead wood removed. They do not require a ‘hair cut’, and especially not in winter. It is time the gardening in parks and reserves had a qualified supervisor to ensure mistakes like this are not made.
