The reporter’s words
Dog poop that is getting trodden on has become a routine problem on our walk to school, particularly at top of jail steps. I caught this dog in the act (no collar) and then saw where he went to. The owners of 18 St David’s have been doing it up and the dog is theirs. I confirmed as approached them asking as was worried it was lost. They don’t live there. The timing of the increase also coincides with when they started visiting to do work on the house. It is gross. They let their dog walk freely unsupervised. It treats the top of Jail steps and corner of st David’s St and Stephenson Steep as a toilet. It has also caused a car to swerve as it seems to have no road sense. Should I report here or to police? I saw CCC post on lyttelton fb page about stepping up dog patrols due to increased complaints but then there isn’t a clear incident type for dog control on here. I would not want my name made known to the owners people.
