The reporter’s words

We were in Alice Cinema and DVD. As we were leaving in our car, there was a crash and a man fell heavily off his bike beside us. He was in the bike lane. He strayed too close to the gutter, which is full of dirty slimy water, and his wheels skidded from under him and he fell. He hurt his leg and was shocked, dizzy and faint. We phoned an ambulance, and was sat with him to make sure he was ok. The chap who works in Alice Video said this wasn’t the first time has happened. We can see that the stormwater drain is higher than where the water has gathered and slimed, and it will never drain away and will be a constant hazard to cyclists (and pedestrians!) it is extremely slippery. The gutter is full of rubbish and needs to be HIGHER than the stormwater drain.
