Roads - General
Reported Thursday, 1 October 2020 at 6:53 pm, 23–35, Chapel Street, Papanui, Canterbury, 8053, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
This intersection is now dangerous. There is greatly increased traffic from the Northlink shopping Centre and larger Mitre 10 coming down Langdon’s road and Chapel Street. It is difficult to make a right turn from Chapel Street into Langdon’s to get to Northlands Mall. This used to be a quiet intersection. There is not enough space on the road for cars to wait in line to turn left as well as a line to turn right. A small low cost improvement could be to remove the parking space for the one car park space on the left side of Chapel Street allowing left turning traffic to turn alongside right turning traffic. Visibility of traffic is also an issue when turning right.
