The reporter’s words

This sign warning cyclists of tram tracks is likely to be ineffective fo the following reasons: 1. It is positioned too high (should be at head height for people biking). 2. It is too far away from the tram track hazard (approx. 70m) 3. In that location, cyclists will be focused on the risk of opening car doors. Reading signs would be secondary. 4. No tram track image. Other points, is the motor vehicle loss of traction sign really necessary in a 30 km/h area? (It is effectively visual noise). It looks like this signage is out of date? New signage for cyclists is blue and white (e.g. Rolleston Ave) and shows the image of a cyclist and tram tracks. Anyway if you can look at how this could be improved, thinking about it from the perspective of a person riding a bike. Thanks, Allan Taunt.
