The reporter’s words
Most late afternoons, Julian Harding Jewellers starts his brazier which sits right on a busy footpath on London Street that’s used by many including school children. It’s also under a shop overhang and less than 3 metres from a wooden building. There is no visible hose nearby and can burn well into the night. The remains are always left out and the mess can be seen in the mornings. This is clearly an open fire (& not a BBQ) intended for entertainment value in a built up area and I feel, quite dangerous, and simply not on!Please keep this heads up, with my name, anonymous as I also live in this town. Many thanks.
