Rubbish/Recycling

Reported Wednesday, 18 November 2020 at 6:04 pm, 108, Olliviers Road, Phillipstown, Canterbury, 8011, New Zealand.

The reporter’s words

This is feedback. Our recycling bin this week was contaminated by someone else. I understand they contaminated other bins as well so several on our part of the street did not have them emptied on Monday. Why is it our responsibility to empty the rubbish out so you will empty them? When I lifted the lid to see why my bin had not been emptied nothing I could see belonged to us. If we see anything in someone else’s bin we are not allowed to take it out as it belongs to you yet when we are telling you that we did not put the rubbish in our bin that it was put out on the street as per your instructions on the night before collection day why are we held responsible for removing someone else’s rubbish and potentially over flowing our own red bins? Especially when you already have so many items that you no longer accept for recycling you are actually making it easier to simply say forget the recycling take the bin away we’ll just toss it all in the red bin.
