Roading/Streets
Reported Wednesday, 31 March 2021 at 1:09 pm, 596, Colombo Street, Christchurch, Canterbury, 8011, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
I’ve found the detection for bikes in this hook turn box to be a bit hit and miss. This gets dangerous when a rider is not detected and so the cycle light remains on red, with left-turning traffic allowed to run. Several times I have needed to go on the red to get out of the way of legally turning traffic. This is despite me locating my steel-framed bike over the loop (which, incidentally, obstructs following through riders).
