The reporter’s words

The traffic lights at this intersection do not have a dedicated Right turn. In quiet times this might be fine, but traffic has been building here significantly and it is very difficult to turn right. Cars are at the mercy of oncoming traffic stopping on the orange light to have a turn, frequently the cars continue to stream straight ahead on the orange light meaning that the cars waiting to turn right either go through the red light (dangerous!) or else are stuck there for multiple traffic light sequences, with many other cars waiting behind them. For such a major intersection it seems important that there should be a dedicated Right signal.
