The reporter’s words

This report regards the lack of one yellow line road marking outside 49 Gracefield Avenue at its intersection with Durham Street North, between the corner and the bricked strip which designates the entrance to the avenue. The effect is that, often, like today (12 May 21), motorists park their cars too close to the corner, severely constricting the width of the street causing hazard. The solution is evident on the other side of the road outside 58 Gracefield Avenue where an appropriate line has been painted in front of the drain grill. By way of contrast, I note the entrances to Conference Street, Beveridge Street and Peacock Street have all been totally upgraded. Until Gracefield Avenue receives its upgrade, this single yellow line mark will make it possible for Council to signal its intention to make the corner safe. Kind regards David Chambers 56 Gracefield Avenue Christchuch 8013
