The reporter’s words
Public steps - these are dangerous and don’t meet standards. The treads are wobbly with stringers rotting out. The wire is worn off and the risers are not standard height and depth making it easy for trips and falls especially for less sure footed people. This is a popular shortcut to Urumau reserve and for daytrippers exploring the crater rim walkway, and is used by people living on Foster Tce to shortcut to the village. I would really appreciate it if ccc could replace with new steps that meet safety standards and building code. This is my second request, the last one would have been a few years back. Thanks
