Flooding
Reported Wednesday, 26 May 2021 at 5:00 pm, 17, Harbour View Terrace, Cass Bay, Canterbury, 8082, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Some weeks ago the council(?) dug up the road opposite the top of our drive in front of no. 10 Harbour View Terrace in Cass Bay. We believe that a natural spring had been seeping up through the tarmac - photo 5 shows the square of repaired road. Since that work was done, we have had water seeping through our shared drive and it has been steadily getting worse. We are worried that the ground beneath the drive is being eroded and that we might end up with a sinkhole. We realise that the fault is no longer on public land, but feel that the actions of the council are the direct cause of the current problem. The drive is joint owned by: 2 Cass Bay Place; 15 Harbour View Terrace; 17 Harbour View Terrace.
