The reporter’s words

Hi, The Trampoline at Chesterfields Park does not meet current safety standards and is a risk for children. Children are accustomed to using Trampolines with pads over the springs and nets to prevent falling out. There’s no soft area with bark to soften falls. The Trampoline should be removed as it is located in a public space controlled by the CCC, the community group and the CCC would be liable for any injuries at this site. Given the proximity of Margaret Mary park nearby there’s no disadvantage to removing the Trampoline. Margaret Mahy park is an excellent facility which is popular with kids. We’ll done CCC on that one it’s a huge success. Chesterfields could focus more on community gardening and growing vegetables for the community especially those who are struggling in Christchurch.
