Roading/Streets
Reported Tuesday, 7 September 2021 at 5:17 pm, 2, Cambridge Terrace, Christchurch, Canterbury, 8013, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
It is impossible to comply with the 2m social distancing rule on the bridge at Antigua Boatsheds. Hospital staff crossing the bridge towards to hospital will not keep left and absloutely refuse to move when you approach from the other direction. I go over the bridge every morning running and it is a problem. I think there needs to be some large signage put up. Pedestrian traffic flows well at every other crossing point in Hagley Park apart from this bridge. You end up with hospital staff coming towards you on both sides of bridge. Cyclists go down the middle. There is nowhere to go if you are crossing bridge in other direction and you end up very close to people. It’s uncomfortable in the current situation.
