The reporter’s words

I am not familiar with the detailed issues surrounding these buildings on Hereford Street other than that they are clearly earthquake compromised but for some reason have not been demolished. I am one of many people that have done what the council and the central government wanted and that's in habit the inner city - well I've done my part and what I need now is for the landscape to be fixed up and for this bloody eyesore to be taken down. Over the years I suspect several people have owned and made considerable money from leasing these buildings and it would appear that they are now just walking away from it. Why are these buildings not demolished when are they going to be demolished and why is it taking so long to get to this point where they are an embarrassment to the city.
