The reporter’s words
Give way signs have rotated in the wind, and paint (green on the shared path, and white give way markings) has been worn off. Perhaps the give way signs are too high for drivers to realise they are telling them to give way to shared path users? Could thay be mounted close to the ground to be more effective? I've seen the yellow sign in the raised median (warning drivers to look for cyclists in both directions), but I'm not sure drivers have!
