The reporter’s words
Large Silver Birch tree at Gaiety Theatre (in front of our property) causing chronic and sometimes severe allergic reactions to birch pollen often leading to serious nose bleeds in my son. I have complained about this tree in the past as have neighbours but nothing has been done other than it was topped once. Topping it does not address the problem and ideally the whole tree needs to be removed. There was another large silver birch in a neighbouring private property which they have now removed so it is just the council property silver birch that is causing the allergy problems. As rate payers we should have our concerns listened to and acted upon, especially at this time when there is such an emphasis on a health and well being response.
