Roading/Streets
Reported Saturday, 5 March 2022 at 2:39 pm, 13, Leslie Street, Upper Riccarton, Canterbury, 8041, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
There are a group of older Chinese people selling vegetables each weekend in the Church Corner Asian shops’ carpark. Would you please advise if they have a certificate to be able to operate? The surrounding businesses all have consents from the Council to operate and pay commercial rates. Are these people paying a licence to the Council to operate? How are these people operating under Government Covid guidelines? Do they have a QR code for customers to scan? Are they paying tax to WINZ? I would appreciate a response from the Council as I believe we need fairness for surrounding businesses and adherence to our national laws and council bylaws. By the way, I have no interest in any commercial operation. I am a school teacher who promotes “fair play” to our students. Regards Ross Nicholson
