The reporter’s words
2nd fire at clock tower. Found it 810 this morning. Have called police as young suspects on scene who were hanging out in the alcove area at the back. New can of spray paint nearby. They hid when they saw me till I went up and made conversation with them. They said they were bored, off school. My dog managed to find what I suspect was a fresh human poo and eat it before I could stop her- it was wrapped in a paper bakery bag. Got photos of the suspects who are boys aged about 12-13. One in particular I see there regularly and he seems very interested in the graffiti there too- suspect him of being the ring leader of the Scribbly graffiti there that has also increased lately. A few weeks ago there was another fire there with homework burnt that looked like their age group homework. I’m down there every day and am sick of coming across suspicious looking young people, and an older guy maybe 30s who seems to sleep rough there and looks really gaunt and druggy and has been talking to them. Regularly find small zip lock (meth point bags), rubbish broken glass and vandalism. Bring on the security cameras!
