The reporter’s words
Pedestrians forced onto traffic lane. Nice to get rid of the gravel carpark but this is a very popular walking and cycling route and walkers are now forced to walk in the live traffic lane as the new soiled area is so wet and soft they and their dogs/bikes will sink - going to be like this all winter. And when cars park on the new asphalt area, pedestrians will be forced into the middle of the road. I’ve almost been hit by a car as couldn’t see up the road with a van parked near the gate.
