Roading/Streets
Reported Thursday, 12 October 2017 at 2:58 pm, 2–24, Restell Street, Papanui, 8053, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
Since changes to the road layout due to the northern cycle lane improvement work was completed on Monday 9th October the roadway is a danger as cars can still legally park on one side of the road near the bend in the road but any cars that need to pass (the parked cars) have to travel on the wrong side of the road to proceed. As this is a major bend (blind corner) a crash at this location seems inevitable. Hopefully the photos indicate that having cars parked here takes up virtually the entire side of the road - hence making this a virtual one lane road with no traffic management in place.
