The reporter’s words

A number of people and myself have agreed that this signage is a safety risk for pedestrians trying to cross humpheys drive. Although the car seems like it is far away in the photo, they are actually moving very quickly down this strip as it is about to go into a 70km/h strip of road and there is also a merging lane in which cars speed up to get in front of each other. In order to cross you have to step out on the road to first check if there is any traffic coming, which has caused a number of close calls- especially scary when I was on my crutches a few months ago. I believe does not comply with the policy in the district code: 6.8.2.1.4 a) ensure that signs do not cause obstruction or distraction for motorists and pedestrians and other road users. Is there any way this can please be resolved to make it a safer place to cross
