The reporter’s words
Hi Since the council changed contractors for a cheaper maintenance contract of the parks the standard of maintenance at Owen Mitchell park has declined to the point the garden and trees etc lol more like an abandoned red zone site than the council promoted garden city. It’s sad to see the care of this park so lacking by the council and probably explains why groups from mainland football leave so much rubbish in the park they see the council take no pride in the park so they do then same. Thee are a number of large trees and branches that have fallen and the contractors do nothing about it . So much for health and safety . The council need to look after our environment .
