Roading/Streets

The reporter’s words
I often encounter vehicle transporter trucks unloading cars while blocking one lane of Montreal St during the morning rush hour. The example in this photo (9am on 5th April) is Jeff’s transport, but there are many other transport companies that do the same. These trucks cause disruption to the traffic, and there are no traffic safety measures in place. I would not be surprised if this causes traffic accidents or near misses. Is permission required from the council to block a traffic lane like this? Shouldn’t the council require these freight companies to implement proper traffic safety control for these regular road blockages? Could council require that these road blockages only occur at a time during the day or evening when there is less traffic? Thanks Mike
