The reporter’s words

An invasive algae has recently been introduced to the Styx mill stream feeding the Styx river and is choking it up. The occupants of 73 Regents Park drive have recently built a retaining wall in the stream and concreted it in. They have then poured large quantities of river stones in to protect their wall. Within a short time of putting the stones in a long algae started growing on them. This have now choked downstream of the address and it has now been found in the lakes of the Styx Mill reserve. There was none of this algae in the stream before and there is still none upstream. The first two photos show the stream outside the address and the third shows the stream just metres upstream
