The reporter’s words
The cycle way light did not activate at the Sawyers Arms / Sissons Dr intersection (travelling towards the city) this morning. I sat through 3 light cycles without it turning green despite sitting on the diamonds. It did not activate until a cyclist travelling in the opposite direction tripped the light from across the intersection. As there isn’t a button to manually activate the crossing it’s tricky to get across because visibility around into Sissons Rd is limited.
