The reporter’s words
From Huanui Lane there is no right turn onto Hereford St so cars use the pedestrian crossing as it has no obstacles to cars using it except pedestrians. Last Friday I used this crossing then a black 4wd decided it also wanted to use it and nearly hit me. The next pedestrian crossing down has a yellow hand rail bolted to the crossing to stop cars using it as a turning lane. I live in this neighbourhood and all these nice wide footpath areas are always being used by lazy car drivers.
