The reporter’s words

These photos are all taken on the corner of St Andrews Gill and Bridle path road where the big retaining wall is. The locals who live around here are sick and tired of nothing being done to improve this mess. It’s all weeds and it’s now becoming a fire risk because of the heights and the dryness of the vegetation. What a shame the Council can’t come up with a plan to beautify this area and their ugly retaining wall to fit in with the lovely bridge and the coastal walk way plus the lovely planting around the Mt Pleasant yacht club area. If or when the Council do decide to clean up this corner please come up with plants that will survive out this way and please weed it properly and not just using a weed eater to take the weeds to ground level as they just grow back. The question must be asked what we pay our high rates for out this way as our main Road up St Andrews Hill is like a roller coaster along with the footpath cracking. Very frustrating.
