The reporter’s words

Two weeks ago I placed a request to have the verges of Ross Terrace mowed. Thankyou for actioning this. When I spoke with Alan Cameron I mentioned that gutters had been swept 3 weeks ago, verge sprayed and thirdly banks mowed today. Perhaps next time mowing could occur prior to road sweeping to ensure gutters stay clear for longer? I’m pleased there is now better visibility along the road it makes it much safer. I’m disappointed however that the mower began by mowing our tussock bank, you’ll see the photographs attached. These banks have been a labour of love over the last 4 years, we’ve removed bins full of rubbish, planted natives ( the ones mowed today are Poa cita and were planted 2 seasons ago). The plants were not restricting visibility for traffic and in a season the bank would have been covered with tussocks completely, no more weeding. The mowing today Is disheartening and means more work for us. Please can I speak to the person who drove the mower to ensure this doesn’t happen next visit.
