Flooding
Reported Friday, 23 November 2018 at 1:41 pm, Montreal Street, Christchurch, 8013, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
During recent rainfall I noticed that the construction of the rain garden adjacent to Montreal Street bridge did not allow discharge of water from the channel drain into it. This was due to the edge of the rain garden being constructed higher than the invert of the channel drain. As a result water backed up the channel drain before flooding over the footpath as overland flow.
