I see these two trees have been cut at the base. It seems highly unusual to leave these trees like this as it will have weakened these trees. Initially I thought the trees had only been pollarded, but on closer inspection that is not the case. Concern is the trees are regrowing and they will become unsafe. Also if a driver was to hit one of these trees, the weakened trunk could add risk.
