The reporter’s words

During the rain last week a slip occurred bringing down rocks and a tree. This demonstrates the requirement for the owners of the hillside properties to stabilise the hill side land within their boundaries. This time it happened on an empty section with no danger to people or property. The next time could be different and Council should ensure owners with hill sides within their boundaries that retention of the hillside is their responsibility.
