Roads - General
Reported Friday, 11 July 2025 at 6:22 pm, Philpotts Rd, Canterbury, Christchurch 8052, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
A driver has hit the pedestrian handrail at the intersection of Philpotts Road and Queen Elizabeth II Drive (SH 74). There was one bent over across the pedestrian crossing area. It was almost broken through, I was able to remove it and place it safely out of the way. There is still a hazard from the pipe “foots” where it attaches to the ground. Needs a cone. But needs fixing as soon as possible.
