The reporter’s words
These cars are illegally parked on Richmond Hill Road, causing pedestrians, parents with prams and the disabled to walk around these cars onto the roadway. This can be some distance when 3 or more cars are parked next to each other. At the last Waihoro-Cashmere-Heathcote-Community Board Meeting, the chair and several members of the board stated that these cars can be ticketed if they are parked on the footpath when asked if they could be ticketed. Of course this is reinforced in the law.
