Roading/Streets

The reporter’s words

The infrastructure work begun in June 2014 now appears complete, so I assume reinstating the road surface is part of that project. There are many potholes and broken surfaces within 20-100 metres of the GPS marker. Either the current finish is temporary or it has not yet been inspected. This road is a bus route and a feeder road, and has a lot of resident and heavy traffic. The one saving grace of a rough surface has been a decline in motorists who take the chicane at more than double the speed limit! It is worthy of note that when the road was restricted to two narrow lanes by roadcones, there were no vehicles that had trouble negotiating the corners. This includes buses, heavy trucks, trailers and any vehicle seen. This being the case, I suspect a raised mound at the centre-line would impose no difficulty to any motorist other than those attempting "extreme speed cornering". Regards Jeremy Poff
