The reporter’s words

A tree has failed down on the south side of Owen Mitchell Park. It should be checked for safety (it is a park, children play here). (Disclaimer, I’m not an expert) I don’t believe there is any immediate risk greater than anything else in the surrounding area. Children could however climb on it. The trunk is still attached to the base, so not likely to fall to the ground at this stage. But get some big kids on it and it could be destabilised.
