Roads - General
Reported Friday, 30 January 2026 at 7:50 am, 4 Whitewash Head Rd, Canterbury, Christchurch 8081, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Major safety concerns for Whitewash Head Road. Smashed safety wall PLUS vegetation pulling over safety fencing. This piece of road is narrow with very steep 15-20m drop offs down a cliff. With the bumpy, undulating, narrow road that has a combination of cars, trucks and pedestrians- this is an accident waiting to happen. The smashed wall is about 1m wide and the fence being pulled over will collapse down the cliff face and into the ocean any day now. Road needs resurfacing as well
