Park - General Request
Reported Thursday, 26 February 2026 at 1:46 pm, Canterbury, Christchurch 8011, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Detour Route Blocked The notified detour route for Electric Avenue is blocked by chainlink fence and cones/conebars at the toilet block (at the intersection of Harper Ave/Salisbury St paths). Fencing contractor onsite said it was for cyclist safety to slow them down. Unfortunately, all they are achieving is forcing cyclists/pedestrians off the shared path onto the slippery grass/mud or letting them run into the dull grey fence placed diagonally across the intersection (no reflective tape on it)
