The reporter’s words

Is the standing dead sweet chestnut nut tree at the bridge of remembrance being removed? If it is being removed can the timber be made available for an exhibition celebrating the trees brought to ChCh? This sweet chestnut tree has a trunk that is suitable to mill and this timber is rare in NZ as well as significant to the city. Proceeds from the exhibition will go to charity and the exhibition will pay for pick up of the log and milling. Please provide a response
