Traffic Signals
Reported Thursday, 12 March 2026 at 9:20 am, Hagley Ave, Canterbury, Christchurch 8011, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Traffic signal phasing for pedestrians and cyclists from Hagley park to hospital corner is not coordinated. This results in many people queued in the central island, crossing on red signal or running/ riding quickly to try and cross at end of green crossing time. This is one of, if not the busiest pedestrian and cycle crossing in the city with direct connection from hospital and city to Hagley park. More priority and improved coordination is required. The timing and coordination was much better.
