Road Signage
Reported Sunday, 5 April 2026 at 4:01 pm, 303-305 Lighthouse Road, Canterbury Region 7581, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
4wd sign has blown over. 2wd tourists have been driving up without realizing and having problems. we have had to turn a lot of people around in campervans and warn people. i tried to put the sign back up using existing hole but it fell back down and I injured myself. Council need to concrete it back in ASAP so that unsuspecting drivers don't get stuck or worse, crash. the concrete holding it up has shattered so future fixes need to be more robust. the area is very exposed to gales.
