Overgrown Vegetation
Reported Saturday, 11 July 2026 at 10:03 am, 42 Sandy Beach Rd, Canterbury, Lyttelton 8971, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The section between 42, 40A and 891 that doesn’t appear to be owned so is presumably council land. This is getting very overgrown with weeds namely sycamore trees and old man’s beard which there have been notices from council and Conservation NZ to remove these pest plants. It’s known sycamore poison the ground to suppress native trees and also spreads many seeds every year and old man’s beard similarly takes over natives which the neighbourhood is establishing. Please can these be removed?
