Roads - General
Reported Saturday, 18 July 2026 at 10:48 am, Thornton St, Canterbury, Christchurch 8013, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The unfinished roadworks at the intersection of Thornton and Flockton have been sitting with zero progress for more than a month now. This is absolutely ridiculous that a crew has not been back to seal the road and reopen the street. I am a resident of Thornton St and have been forced to take detours daily for months now, for no reason other than delays to finish the works. The signs first indicated it would reopen 5 July and then 17 July and it’s now 18 July with no sign of reopening.
